Rovira's 100th birthday coincides with SONICO's 10th anniversary. To mark this milestone, the group embarked on a tour of Argentina and Chile in April 2025. The journey culminated in the capital of tango, Buenos Aires, with the recording of SONICO's fifth album, ROVIRA 100, which includes reissues of Rovira's most emblematic works: Sonico (1969) and Que lo Paren (1975).
Although Rovira's final years were not marked by the recognition he deserved, his influence lives on. His pioneering spirit and groundbreaking style resonate with a modern, globalized audience seeking music that bridges cultures and genres. His work laid the foundation for tango to develop into a truly international art form, inspiring both artists and audiences far beyond Argentina's borders.
